Kids want to be active - so we have many camp offerings which get our kids outdoors... we are surrounded by Duke Forest and only ten minutes from the Eno River access (Pleasant Green and Cole Mill Rd), so many of our camps take to the trails and stop by a shady rock to cool off for a mid-day lunch. The Carolina Friends Summer Program provides a safe, nurturing environment for your child to express his/her individuality.
We balance focused activities in our workshops with social time and free play, making sure that camp is above all, FUN!The CFS Summer Program has numerous workshops with varied themes available for ages 6-15. The themes vary from Earth Arts to Let's Rock to Video Production. There are opportunities to take field trips to surrounding state parks, go swimming, take short walks in our own forest, or stay in our air-conditioned classrooms for art activities.
We know that we are successful when our campers return summer after summer, as campers and later as Counselors-in-Training and assistants and soon with the passing of a few more years...as teachers. We also know that we are successful when our teaching staff returns summer after summer. This continuity helps create a summer community where campers return to old friends and familiar surroundings...where they are known by first name.
But most of all, we remember meeting new friends, being just kids, and having a good time...that's what summer is all about.
