What is the difference between Kidspace and
the Workshops for ages 6 to 8?
Kidspace
Kidspace is a general camp allowing children more time to socialize and play. This group
goes on field trips and to a local pool (to be determined) at least two times a week (depending
on weather, the theme and activities of the week, and the general mood of the group).
Kidspace has themes each week and the activities are based on these themes, such as Hispanic
Adventures, Kitchen Science, Fairies and Elves, Magical Creatures, Forest Ways, etc.
Workshops
Workshops are more specific themes with more focused activities.
If your child prefers a larger group, enjoys socializing, perhaps has some problem focusing
on tasks for a period of time, and is more physically active, we recommend Kidspace. As there
are more opportunities to play and be physically active, these camps may be more preferable.
However, workshop participants DO play, socialize, sometimes have mini field trips, go on
hikes, eat outdoors, and play with other groups. The pace may be slower and more concentrated
in a workshop.
