Fun in the Sun

1 space

Summer is here and it's heating up!  We will have some summer fun in the sun this week as we learn about the ocean and its creatures and the fun we can have at the beach!  We will pretend we're at the beach both inside and outside and explore shells, sea creatures and sand.  And who can stay cool at the beach without popsicles? We will be making our own tasty juice pops this week.  Bring a bathing suit and a towel for some fun pretending and maybe even some water play.

Session 2     June 23-27
Trash to Treasure
FULL

Don't trash it!  Reuse it!  This will be a week full of creativity and imagination as we find out all the things we can make and do with...you guessed it - TRASH!  The children will create sculptures, jewelry and their very own treasures using items from the Scrap Exchange and our own collections of found objects.  We will also learn about and practice recycling and the impact it has on our world.  Oscar the Grouch would be proud!

Session 3     June 30-July 3
Ooey Gooey Fun
FULL

If it’s oooooey goooooey and FUN…Well, we will be mixing it up this week for sure! Campers will have a messy good time creating concoctions from basic kitchen and household items, many of which might just get thrown away if not given a second chance to have a good time! Coffee grounds, baking soda, saw dust, a little flour and some excitement…just a few ingredients we will bring to the table as we let the ooey gooey good times roll!

Session 4     July 7-11
Castles and Kingdoms

Hear ye! Hear ye! Kings, queens, knights, princes, princesses, wizards, jesters and nobles, come spend a week living like royalty. We will learn what life was like  in the castles of long ago, build  new castles of our own,  create costumes for a royal ball, and assume our regal titles. A walk to a real castle is also planned for this week.

Session 5     July 14-18
Fairies and Gnomes

Do you believe in Fairies? If so spread your wings and prepare for a magical journey into the world of Fairies and Gnomes! During this week of mystical discovery we will celebrate the wonders of nature and its magical friends through song, dance, stories and a variety of nature based arts and crafts! The children will create fairy and gnome homes, collect treasures for projects from Mother Nature herself, conjure up magical potions, dine on delectable mystic treats and much more indeed!

Session 6     July 21-25
